It got to -20 in Powell Butte this winter. after moving from there to Portland I like to laugh at how poorly most people deal with the snow, and cold.

You should see the drivers here. Once there is a snow flake, everyone literally stops.

Geez...even our news teams weren't that hyperbolic. They just told everybody to stay safe and stay off the roads and etc.
Also, it gets down to the teens fairly often here. How is Oregon so much farther north than South Carolina and yet they're less used to cold temperatures than we are?

It's always a joke with the reporting in Oregon. They act like Portland is the only city that exists, and it makes the whole rest of the state look bad because of how many stupid people live there. Most of that cold/snow didn't even hit Portland, it was well south.
Where I was we got over 12" basically over night. Everyone was just walking around playing outside. We walked down to the local restaurant and everyone was just drinking coffee chatting... it was no big deal.
